Proposed $28 million construction of a new four (4) storey multi-use building including 254 seat tiered lecture theatre, four (4) applied science workshops, six (6) science laboratories, one (1) computer laboratory, six (6) art studios, new school canteen with undercover seating, roof terrace and underground car parking for 83 cars. The design incorporated a number of innovative features including a light filled and active central circulation space which extends the School’s primary pedestrian spine, from which the facilities of the centre are accessed. Additional environmental initiatives included natural ventilation and daylighting, use of thermal mass and night-time purging, rainwater collection and reuse, plus energy and water efficient fittings.

Group DLA were engaged as the appointed Accredited Certifier / Principal Certifying Authority (PCA), responsible for issue of Part 4A Construction and Occupation Certificates over the multi staged program. Our involvement included the assessment of extensive Fire Engineered and Accessibility performance based solutions.
