Kapooka Army Base – Enhanced Land Force Project

The Enhanced Land Force project through the Department of Defence has a goal of increasing capacity of Australia’s land force. Group DLA were engaged to assist with the delivery of the multi staged $1.4 Billion project as Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Manual of Fire Protection (MFPE) Consultants. This involved ongoing assessment throughout the design development phases of the project, including the provision of certification on behalf of the Department of Defence . Our involvement also extended to the assessment of MFPE dispensations including coordination and liaison with the Department of Defence in Canberra, on-site inspections and issue of Completion Certification signifying BCA and MFPE compliance at the completion of works.

Multi Residential / Accommodation Buildings Project:
This project consisted of the construction of two large residential accommodation buildings to house Defence recruits, with an ancillary office building for the officers.
The accommodation buildings were each of three (3) storey construction, with  the ability to accommodate a full company of recruits as part of the Enhanced Land Force project of Defence.

Mess Hall Project:
The mess hall consisted of a two storey building with the ability to serve the  full Kapooka Defence site, using latest natural ventilation techniques.
